“Service Through the Community”

The Courts in Jackson County are secured by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office as required by the North Carolina General Statutes. Courtroom security is overseen by Lieutenant Matt Helton.  In addition to his duties as the bailiff he is also assisted in the courtroom by Deputy Anthony Bermudez.  They are both assisted at times by the Sheriff’s Office detention personnel in manning the entrances to the courtrooms.  Multiple types of courts are held in Jackson County Courtrooms to include a variety of District and Superior Courts.
