  • No Felony Charges
  • No Serious Misdemeanor Convictions
  • Be in Good Standing in Your Community
  • Be or Be Able to Become a Resident of Jackson County
  • Possess a Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
  • North Carolina Basic Detention Officer Certification Preferred
  • Be Able to Work a Variety of Schedules
  • Other Qualifications the Sheriff Deems Necessary

Salary is Based Upon:

  • Previous Related Experience
  • Grade SH45 in the Sheriff’s Pay Scale with a salary of $27,852-$48,492
