Narcotics

“Service Through the Community”

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division is headed up by Detective Ronnie Mathis and Detective Rick Buchanan. This unit is charged with combating the ever increasing drug problem that is facing Jackson County.  The most predominate drug is methamphetamine. Coupled with several other drugs such as cocaine, “crack”, LSD, heroin, marijuana, and prescription drugs, “meth” has reached an uncharted high in Jackson County.  The battle to keep drugs off the streets has challenged not only this unit, but drug enforcement worldwide.  The Narcotics Division along with limitless assistance from other local, state, and federal agencies routinely purchases drugs in undercover stings, performs surveillance on drug dealers, and performs interdiction stops on our highways.
